Dozens of journalists and media outlet professionals attended the Turkish Embassy on the afternoon of October 27th for a “Get Together with the Press” Luncheon. The event was held on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Turkey and was attended by members of ABRAJINTER – Associação Brasileira de Jornalistas e Comunicadores da Área Internacional e Diplomática (Brazilian Association of Journalists and Communicators of the International and Diplomatic Area).
The Turkish ambassador to Brazil, Mr. Murat Yavuz Ates and other Turkish diplomats and attaches welcomed the guests in the social halls of the official residence, inside the embassy’s property, in the “Setor de Embaixadas Sul” (South Embassies Sector) of Brasília. The get-together took place in an atmosphere of joy and after everyone’s arrival, the journalists were taken to the dining room.
The ambassador delivered a welcoming speech and spoke about the history of Turkey and its importance in the region in which the country is located. He also highlighted the strong relations with Brazil, translated into a growing bilateral trade. His speech was widely applauded by all. Then, the president of ABRAJINTER, Ms. Fabiana Ceyhan, gave a speech, thanking the ambassador for organizing the get-together and congratulating the Turkish people on their National Day.
