The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Brazil, Mr. Saleh Ahmad Salem Alzaraim Alsuwaidi, welcomed distinguished guests at a memorable evening at the Hípica Hall in Brasília on Wednesday, November 22. The event was attended by Brazilian authorities, diplomats, entrepreneurs, journalists, and friends of the Emirates, in an atmosphere of refinement and cordiality.

The reception began with the introduction of guests to Arabian delicacies such as dates and UAE coffee, providing a tasty glimpse of the rich Emirati gastronomy. Attendees were led to the impressively decorated hall, where they had the opportunity to enter a drawing for flight tickets to Dubai, offered right at the entrance.

Throughout the event, participants not only enjoyed Emirati cuisine but were also treated to a unique performance by the Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by soprano Fatima Alhashini, along with the Brazilian Orchestra conducted by Ed Cortês. A highlight of the program was a new musical composition presented, especially dedicated to the occasion, paying tribute to the untouched Brazilian nature.

The embassy, represented by musicians from the UAE, moved everyone by playing the national anthems of Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, uniting cultures harmoniously. Following this, Ambassador Alsuwaidi delivered a speech emphasizing the remarkable development of the United Arab Emirates, also recognized for its commitment to sustainability. It is noteworthy that the country will host the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) from November 30 to December 12, 2023, a crucial event bringing together leaders from over 190 countries to discuss strategies in the fight against global warming.

After the ambassador’s words, the Secretary of Climate, Energy, and Environment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, André Aranha Corrêa do Lago, shared important insights into the strong diplomatic ties between Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. Guests also had the opportunity to watch a video highlighting the achievements of the UAE Embassy in Brazil, showcasing dedicated efforts in diplomacy and significant achievements in the field of clean energy.

Closing the night in a special way, participants were treated to a refined dinner and received small plants as souvenirs, thus sealing a remarkable night of cultural exchange and diplomatic cooperation.
