UNICEF is the grand champion of the 2025 THE GUIDE Amateur Beach Volleyball Tournament! The team won the grand final against the strong German Fire team, made up of diplomats from the German Embassy, ​​family members, and guests. The Friends of THE GUIDE team, made up of players from the Embassy of Pakistan, the Embassy of Iran, and guests, came in 3rd place, and the team from the Embassy of the United Kingdom received the Top Four medals.

Embassy of Kazakhstan won the Troféu TORCIDA ANIMADA (Enthusiastic Fan Trophy)!

The tournament took place on the morning of November 30th at the ASES club, located next to the Pier 21 Shopping Mall. The BSBCOR and Kazakhstan Embassy teams also participated in the tournament on that sunny Saturday.

The club’s restaurant provided drinks, snacks, and popsicles for sale in the tournament area and invited everyone to enjoy the famous Feijoada and other gastronomic options at lunch, which were served with the presentation of a talented musical group.

The sunny Saturday was perfect, and the teams arrived bringing their enthusiastic supporters, which included friends and family of the players. The teams had several players, with 4 participants on the court. Almost all were mixed, with players of both sexes. The tournament rules gave an extra point per set to the team that had a female player throughout the set.

The games began, and joy and camaraderie were present in each match. Several teams were formed by members of the same family, and parents and children showed interaction and technical skill at various times. Undoubtedly, beautiful examples of unity. The Kazakhstan Embassy team brought families with several children who – with their little flags – cheered on their games. Thanks to the great support, the team received the Enthusiastic Fan Trophy! Congratulations!!!

 The games were underway, and beautiful plays were seen in each game. The semifinals were defined with the matches between the teams “Fogo Alemão”(German Fire) and United Kingdom, and UNICEF against “Amigos do THE GUIDE”. The winners who advanced to the grand final were Fogo Alemão and UNICEF.

 

The team “Amigos do THE GUIDE”, formed by the union of players from Brazil, Pakistan, and Iran, competed for third place against the team from the Embassy of the United Kingdom. The match was balanced, but the synergy established between the players of “Amigos do THE GUIDE” made the necessary difference to achieve Third Place in the tournament. The team from the Embassy of the United Kingdom received TOP FOUR medals for being among the four finalist teams.

For the final game, the UNICEF and Fogo Alemão teams entered the court confident and motivated by the good results obtained in the previous games. The captain of the German team, Mrs. Nina Sartori and the captain of the UNICEF team, Mr. Yuri dos Santos Silva, led the camaraderie between the players of their teams and all enjoyed being in the final game.

The confrontation began under the strong sun of the end of that morning and each point generated excitement among the fans and spectators. The technical level of both teams was high and beautiful plays were seen by everyone. The game was officiated by the two judges who conducted the tournament with tranquility and professionalism. After the balanced clash, the UNICEF team managed to achieve victory and win the great title of CHAMPION of THE GUIDE Amateur Beach Volleyball Tournament 2025! Congratulations!!! The Fogo Alemão team was congratulated for the beautiful match and the strength shown in the tournament. It has undoubtedly become one of the favorite teams to win the 2026 tournament.

Everyone headed to the awards area, where the CEO of THE GUIDE, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, conducted the ceremony for the presentation of trophies and medals. The ceremony began with thanks to the Presidency and board of directors of Clube ASES, who made it possible to hold the beautiful sporting and social event at the club. The following thanks were given to the tournament sponsors, especially to Drs. After the raffle of gifts from Moreti Odontologia, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira began the delivery of trophies and medals, and the first trophy was the “Troféu Torcida Animada” (Cheering Crowd Trophy) for the Kazakhstan Embassy team’s fanbase. The winning fanbase included a group of children and teenagers, children of Kazakh diplomats, who, with their country’s flags, motivated their team to seek victories. Next, Mr. Lucas Almeida, from the United Kingdom embassy, ​​received the TOP FOUR medals for his team’s players. The British Embassy had a lunchtime event on that Saturday, so the players had to leave the tournament early.

Following the awards ceremony, the players from the “Friends of THE GUIDE” team were called to receive the trophy and medals for 3rd place.
The team consisted of players from the embassies of Iran and Pakistan, as well as a guest Brazilian player. The team worked hard and managed to win against the strong team from the United Kingdom. The “German Fire” team was then called to receive the medals and trophy for runner-up. The team was made up of diplomats from the German embassy and their families, as well as a guest player from the Embassy of Greece. From the beginning of the tournament, the team showed strength and won all the matches until reaching the final. The final game was balanced against the UNICEF team, and both teams put on a great show for the audience. The players received their runner-up medals, and the team captain, Ms. Nina Sartori, received the well-deserved trophy from Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira for their excellent performance in the tournament. The team celebrated the result and recalled past tournaments organized by THE GUIDE, in which the German Embassy always won trophies.
