If you are having some time to enjoy the city, see below some tips about what to do in Brasília.
1) Go for a walk in the Parque da Cidade (City Park)! It is located in Asa Sul and has space for walking, running, cycling, feeding the ducks in the lake, playing in the Amusement Park (Nicolândia), etc. Parque da Cidade also has a restaurant (Alpinos) and places to sell snacks and coconut water;
2) Another good park for a walk (bicycles, skateboards, etc. are not allowed) is Parque Olho’s d’Agua, in Asa Norte (in front of Quadra SQN 214). There is a pond with turtles there. Children love to look! The park does not sell food, but right in front of it there is a commercial area (CLN 214) with restaurants and snack bars. The park does not open on Mondays.
3) If it rains, go to the shopping centers and malls. There are many gastronomic options and even see a movie at the cinema. If you feel like it, buy something in stores! We recommend Parkshopping (near the Carrefour Sul supermarket (Guará neigbourhood)) and also Iguatemi Shopping, in Lago Norte. If you want to be near the hotel area, go to Patio Brasil Shopping or Brasília Shopping. This week a lot of sales will start.
4) If you want to have a beer and chat with friends, Pontão do Lago Sul, in Lago Sul, has good restaurants and a beautiful view of Lake Paranoá. The end of the afternoon there is very beautiful (if it doesn’t rain, of course!). There are a lot of restaurants and bars in Asa Sul and Asa Norte. There are a concentration of them in the commercial areas CLS 405 and CLS 409, in Asa Sul and CLN 209 and CLN 110 in Asa Norte neighborhood.
Anyway, enjoy your time and have a Great 2023!
