The 2nd THE GUIDE / “MUNDIAL RESIDENCE” Amateur Football Tournament kicked off on Saturday, August 23rd, with twelve teams from the diplomatic sector competing for the eight spots in the final stage, which will take place on Saturday, August 30th.

President Director of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, welcomed the teams, fans, sponsors and visitors to the tournament.
The eight teams competing in the next stage are Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Nepal & Friends, UNICEF, Defense Attachés, GIZ, and Korea. The matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the ARENA (South Club Sector).

The players attended the event early in the morning and donated food to a charity organization. As last year, the food delivery will be made soon and announced here on THE GUIDE. The teams had six players on the field and a goalkeeper. Some teams featured female players, and under the new tournament rules, these teams would be considered victorious if they tied with teams without female players.
The games consisted of two 15-minute halves, which prevented excessive physical strain on the players.
Each team played two matches. A sense of camaraderie was present, and the players enjoyed each match.
On the first day of matches, the tournament awarded the FAIR PLAY Trophy to the team that committed the fewest fouls and the BEST GOALKEEPER trophy to the goalkeeper who conceded the fewest goals.

President Director of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, thanked all for the great first day of the tournament.
The Korean Embassy team won the FAIR PLAY Trophy, and goalkeeper Shozo Marques from the GIZ team received the BEST GOALKEEPER trophy. Both teams advanced to the second round.
THE GUIDE invites the embassy community and international organizations to watch the final matches of the 2nd THE GUIDE / “MUNDIAL RESIDENCE” Amateur Football Tournament, which will take place on the morning of next Saturday, August 30th.
The ARENA, the event venue, has a cafeteria selling snacks, appetizers, and drinks, including cold beers, great for those who aren’t driving and want to beat the low humidity that Brasília is experiencing this month.
