Ambassador of Indonesia, Mr. Edi Yusup and ambassadress Senny Syahfinar

 

The Embassy of Indonesia held a dinner on August 20 to celebrate its country’s National Day. Hundreds of people went to the event to congratulate Indonesia’s ambassador to Brazil, Mr. Edi Yusup.

Upon arrival, the guests were welcomed by young people beautifully dressed with typical clothing from that exotic Asian country.

Ambassador Edi Yusup received the compliments along with other embassy officials in the lobby of the official residence, located in the Setor de Embaixadas Sul (South Embassy Sector) of Brasilia. The guests then went to the residence’s social halls where there was a beautiful decoration with typical furniture and objects of Indonesia.

The guests got together also in the open-air areas of the residence. Among them, there were foreign ambassadors, Brazilian federal government officials, Brazilian and foreign diplomats, military attaches, businessmen, intellectuals, and members of the Indonesian community in Brasilia.

As part of the event, a dance teacher performed a beautiful dance and everyone marveled at the typical Indonesian dance called Pendet, formerly used in the country’s religious rituals.

After the dance performance, the anthems of Brazil and Indonesia were played. Ambassador Edi Yusup then gave a speech highlighting his country’s diplomatic and trade relations with Brazil. He pointed the growth in the current bilateral balance between the two countries that has so far generated more than $ 1.8 billion in 2019.

At the end of his speech, Ambassador Edi Yusup invited everyone to a dinner with typical Indonesian foods. Guests tasted a variety of traditional dishes, as well as the famous typical Indonesian sweets. The guests fraternized during that beautiful event and congratulated Ambassador Edi Yusup for the success of the celebration.
