Hundreds of guests were welcomed by the Chilean Ambassador, Mr. Fernando Schmidt Ariztía and his wife (above) and other Diplomats and atachés of the Embassy of Chile (below), to celebrate the National Day. The celebration was on September 18th in the oficial residence of the Ambassador, in Setor de Embaixadas Sul (South Embassy Sector).

The ambassador of Chile, Mr. Fernando Schmidt, along with diplomats and military attachés, received greetings at the entrance hall of the Embassy. Then, the guests made their way to the porch and the open air areas of ​​the Embassy to fellowship. The environment was beautifully decorated with the colors of Chile, in celebration of such an important date.

Among the guests there were ambassadors, diplomats, military and civil attachés, representatives of the Chilean community in Brasilia, business executives and members of the society of Brasilia. A big screen was placed in the area and it exhibited images of the tourist attractions and the beautiful Chilean landscapes.

The guests were invited to stand for the presentation of the national anthems of Brazil and Chile, which were performed with mastery by the military band.

The Ambassador of Chile, Mr. Fernando Schmidt, and Brazilian Ambassador Marcos Bezerra Abbott Galvão delivered speeches about the bilateral relations between Brazil and Chile and highlighted the increase of the number of Brazilian tourists who visited that beautiful country  last year.


After the speeches, Ambassador Schmidt offered a toast to honor the National Day of his country. Then, the guests were invited to taste a celebration dinner, including wines and typical dishes of Chile, as the famous salmon and oysters. Under a fraternized mood, the guests congratulated Ambassador Schimidt, diplomats and attachés of Chile for the success of the event.
