Pakistani Defense Attaché promotes Iftar Meal

The Defense Attaché at the embassy of Pakistan, Brigade General Muhammad Ahsan, welcomed guests to his residence in the Lago Sul district of Brasilia early in the evening of May 6^th to share the Iftar meal, which takes place during the Hamadan period.

Among the guests there were journalists, businessmen, academics and members of Brasilia’s society, as well as the Pakistani ambassador, Mr. Ahmad Hussain Dayo, and other members of the Embassy of Pakistan. All guests were received by General Ahsan and taken to the open air areas of the beautiful residence, where tables were prepared for the special dinner.

The event began with a prayer of appreciation. Then, everyone started tasting traditional Pakistani cuisine, served on a varied menu specially prepared for the event. The Brazilian guests had the opportunity to get to know dishes such as Dahi Baray, Chicken Tikka Boti and Biryani, prepared with spices from Pakistan.

Iftar is the main meal of the fasting day, which occurs at sunset every day of Ramadan. Muslims eat their meals usually with family and friends.

Guests enjoyed the traditional Pakistani cuisine.

The Iftar meal was a beautiful gathering event. Everyone had joyful conversations in an atmosphere of friendship and celebration. The guests thanked Pakistan’s Defense Attaché, General Muhammad Ahsan, for promoting the important event presenting Pakistan’s culture, religion and gastronomy.
