The Music Festival “Feminino” (Female) celebrates the strength of the feminine in encounters of artists, of diverse genres and origins at CCBB.
The first performance takes place on May 3rd, with Xenia França and As Bahias. The deep voice and the exuberant presence of XENIA, representative of black feminism and also vocalista of the group Aláfia takes the stage. She presents her second album, packed in drums and vocals in harmony, and dialogues with As Bahias, a duo of transgender women from São Paulo, Assucena Assucena and Raquel Virgínia. The concert to be presented combines pop and dance, anti-sexist and anti-homophobic discourse.
Poetry and love are the highlights in the performance by Anelis Assumpção and Tulipa Ruiz. The singers take to the stage the posthumous album by Serena Assunção, sister of Anelis. Each track of the album is still dedicated to a personality that Serena admired – Elis Regina, Clara Nunes, Luz Del Fuego and Paco de Lucia are some of them.
The third presentation brings together Alice Caymmi, a striking figure and full-bodied voice, and Jaloo, a young singer from Pará who mixes international, electronic pop with regional music. His androgynous and delicate appearance contrasts sharply with Alice’s shocking performances.
Badi Assad wraps up the project with the singer and songwriter Tiê. The delicacy of the performance of the two artists combines and multiplies.
