Film festival presents a retrospective of the career of the Czech film-maker Věra Chytilová. From March 26 to April 14, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil – CCBB.

During the event, all women will pay half price, in commemoration of the International Women’s Day.

Vera Chytilová was characterized by the strong personality and harsh criticisms that she made against the contemporary society. She was a feminist and had a very rebellious style, making her style an intense militancy against Nazism and influenced by the neorealist movement in which she was inserted.

Until the end of her career, Vera struggled to produce art in a period of intense censorship and resisted to impositions and labels.
