The embassy of South Africa along with the Correios (Brazilian post office company) and the government of Distrito Federal promoted on the evening of December 10th at Palácio do Buriti (Government palace of Distrito Federal) the launching ceremony of the Commemorative Postage Stamp on 100th Birthday Year of Nelson Mandela.
Dozens of people attended the invitation of the ambassador of South Africa, Mr. Joseph Ntshikiwane Mashimbye, to prestige such important moment. Among the guests there were diplomats, ambassadors, journalists, the president of Correios company, Mr. Juarez Cunha and the governor of Distrito Federal, Mr. Rodrigo Rollemberg , along with his wife, Mrs. Marcia Rollemberg.

The ambassador Mashimbye gave a speech thanking the guests presence and highlighting the importance of the legacy left by Mandela, not just for South Africa, but for all the Humanity. Posteriorly the president of Correios, Mr. Juarez Cunha, also gave a speech making a tribute to the memory of Mandela. After that, the governor Rollemberg also delivered a speech remembering Nelson Mandela and also the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the liberty of the human beings, the democracy, the justice and the respect to each other.
The Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, known by the utilization of many colors and forms in his works, was the responsible for the Postage Stamp illustration, which was praised by all. The ambassador Mashimbye and the governor Rollemberg, along with Mr. Cunha, did the launching of the postage stamp and received it as a gift.
After the ceremony the guests fraternized at the Palace hall, decorated with banners that showed the Mandela’s trajectory. Traditional South- African music was played and some of the guests enjoyed dancing and having fun. At the end of event people greeted the South African ambassador Joseph Ntshikiwane Mashimbye for the beautiful celebration and for the Centenary of Nelson Mandela.
