King Bhumibol Adulyadej, was revered as “Father of the Nation” by the 67 million Thais. The monarch was loved by all his subjects – houses and offices throughout the country displayed portraits of his majesty in prominent places, revealing the worship of the people by the king, who remained on the throne for 70 years (1946 – 2016). His Majesty Bhumidol – the ninth king of the Chakri Dynasty – will be remembered as the monarch who has worked hard to improve the lives of all citizens given his vast knowledge of the difficult condition of existence in the country. This assured the King the well-deserved title of “Father of the Nation,” affectionately bestowed by the Thai people.
At the end of the event, ambassador Charnbhumidol and members of the Thai Embassy took pictures around the picture of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
