Prime Minister Modi: ‘NRA will prove to be a boon for crores of youngsters’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took to Twitter to laud the Cabinet’s decision to set up a multi-agency body called the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) that will conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) to screen candidates for Central government jobs.
“The National Recruitment Agency will prove to be a boon for crores of youngsters. Through the Common Eligibility Test, it will eliminate multiple tests and save precious time as well as resources. This will also be a big boost to transparency, ”PM Modi said in a tweet.
The Center has approved funds to the tune of Rs. 1517.57 crore to set up the National Recruitment Agency. The expenditure will be undertaken over a period of three years. Besides setting up the NRA, the government will also spend on setting up proper examination infrastructure in the nearly 117 districts.
The move will benefit a large number of rural aspirants who try for Central government jobs every year. The CET will now be available in multiple languages and would help aspirants from different parts of the country to take the examination and get equal chances of being selected.
A single eligibility test would also significantly reduce the recruitment cycle. Some government departments had indicated their intention to do away with any second level test and go ahead with recruitment on the basis of CET scores, physical tests and medical examination.
Bringing in transformational reform in the recruitment process for central government jobs, the Cabinet has announced the creation of a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to make the process of applying for such jobs easier for the youth.
There are more than 20 recruitment agencies currently under the Central government.

“A Agência Nacional de Recrutamento provará ser uma bênção para milhões de jovens. Por meio do Teste de Elegibilidade Comum, a Agência eliminará vários testes e economizará tempo e recursos preciosos. Isso também será um grande impulso para a transparência”, disse o PM Modi em um tweet.
O governo da Índia aprovou fundos na ordem de R$ 1,113 bilhão (Rs. 1517,57 crore) para estabelecer a Agência Nacional de Recrutamento. As despesas serão feitas durante um período de três anos. Além de estabelecer a NRA, o governo indiano também vai gastar na criação de uma infraestrutura de exames adequada em cerca de 117 distritos.
A mudança beneficiará um grande número de aspirantes rurais que tentam empregos no governo central da Índia todos os anos. O CET estará disponível em vários idiomas e ajudará os aspirantes de diferentes partes do país a fazerem o exame e terem chances iguais de serem selecionados.
Um único teste de elegibilidade também reduziria significativamente o ciclo de recrutamento. Alguns departamentos governamentais indicaram a sua intenção de eliminar qualquer teste de segundo nível e prosseguir com o recrutamento com base nas pontuações no CET, testes físicos e exames médicos.
Trazendo uma reforma transformacional no processo de recrutamento para empregos no governo central da Índia, o Gabinete anunciou a criação de uma Agência Nacional de Recrutamento (NRA) para tornar o processo de candidatura a tais empregos mais fácil para os jovens.
Existem mais de 20 agências de recrutamento sob o governo central atualmente.
