Civil engineer and self-taught painter from the age of 7, Kiko Stotz thinks a lot about the environment when creating his oil paintings. The theme is present in most of the works on display at Visões do imaginário III.
The artist draws inspiration from day-to-day observations of humanity’s use of natural resources, as well as moral and ethical reflections. The works show the artists fascination with surreal aspects from other artists such as Salvador Dalí and René Magritte.
Stotz’s works vary from devastated to enchanting landscapes, evocations of the need of equilibrium and even suggestions of solutions for conscious use of water resources.
