02-09 Two exhibitions at CAL

Urban violence is the material for two exhibitions at Casa da Cultura da América Latina (CAL).

In “Geografia da Imagem” (Geography of the image), Diego Castro gathers photographs that bring records of violence. The artist is interested in the sense of misrepresentation and the place of images in different contexts.

Formed by João Mascaro, student of architecture, and by Gabriela De Laurentiis, architect, the “Lâmina Collective” is also interested in urban photography. The duo presents the installation “Camadas: Narrativas Visuais da Violência” (Layers: Visual Narratives of Violence), which simulates a laboratory designed for the future and engaged in the research of the images of our days.
