The heat wave that has been spreading in the Federal District, in recent weeks, should intensify even more around the end of the week. According to the Inmet – Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (National Meteorology Institute), on this Thursday (October 8th) and Friday (October 9th) the maximum temperature has a chance of reaching 40° C (104° F).
An emergency was issued by the Inmet on Monday (October 5th), so that the population would take extra care with their health in the coming days. The relative humidity of the air has varied between 40% and 10% and temperatures reached around 34° C (93,2° F).
This year is the fourth hottest in the ranking of highest temperatures recorded in the Distrito Federal.
Meteorologists from Inmet explain that the high temperatures are due to the possibility of precipitation for the next weekend. As rain approaches, the weather shall become hotter until the rain actually comes around.
With the high temperatures and air humidity below 15%, the people of Brasilia must be extra careful with their health and should, most importantly, hydrate more.
