With smiles on their faces and hearts wide open to freedom, the collective Bloco do Amor marks its 10th edition, celebrating the inclusion that unites us and the diversity that drives us. Bloco is a word in portuguese that also means “carnival street band”.
Committed to respecting differences and valuing affection in all its forms, Bloco do Amor creates a space for unity and puts inclusion at the center of the celebration.
On Monday, March 3rd, Via S2 (avenue) will transform itself into a runway of diversity and love, filled with the vibrant energy of passionate hearts. The parade kicks off at 1 PM, starting near the National Museum of the Republic and heading toward Setor Comercial Sul, led by two electric trio trucks (trio elétrico is a truck with strong speakers and a stage on top for musicians and singers).
A Carnival of Art and Celebration
Created by a collective of artists engaged in a dialogue between different artistic expressions, Bloco do Amor blends the beats and colors of music, dance, circus arts, drag performance, and Brazilian mythology in a welcoming atmosphere for all forms of love. The event features theatrical moments and interactive performances, with a soundtrack that spans from Carnival classics to the rhythms Calypso, Brega, Forró, MPB, and Pop music.
Since its debut in 2016, Bloco do Amor has highlighted diverse identities, embracing human values and individuality in a society often shaped by rigid norms. In defiance of these standards, the bloco rejects all forms of prejudice, offering a safe space for people of different backgrounds, races, and orientations, as well as those from marginalized communities, including sex workers. Even the chosen route in the city, Via S2, poetically forms a heart—symbolizing the bloc’s mission of love and inclusion.
A Message of Love and Respect
“Our goal has always been to embrace and let love shine in all its forms—including love for oneself, for others, for family, and for the community,” says Letruta/Larissa Hollywood, the event’s general coordinator and master of ceremonies. The underlying message is one of mutual and inclusive respect, allowing people of all ages to come together and celebrate love—a fundamental sentiment for society as a whole. This vision has been reflected in 10 years of festivities without any violent incidents.
A Diverse Team at the Helm
Leading this vibrant street celebration is a diverse team made up of LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, Black and marginalized communities, and sex workers. The organizing team includes:

Iris Marwell – LGBTQIAPN+ fat woman from the periphery
Letruta/Larissa Hollywood – Gay man and drag queen
Tonhão Nunes – Black, non-binary person from the periphery
Bianca Ludgero – LGBTQIAPN+ woman
Duda Pilsen – Trans woman from the periphery
Letícia Helena – Black, LGBTQIAPN+ woman from the periphery
Lainha Loiola – Cis woman
They come from diverse DF regions, including Riacho Fundo I, Santa Maria, São Sebastião, Brazlândia, Gama, Guará, and Valparaíso de Goiás.
Bloco do Amor is more than a Carnival party— it is a statement of love, diversity, and resistance, ensuring that joy and inclusivity remain at the heart of the celebration.

Na segunda-feira de Carnaval (3 de março), a Via S2 se transforma em uma passarela da diversidade e do amor, preenchida pela paixão vibrante de corações pulsantes. A folia tem início às 13h e parte da altura do Museu Nacional da República em direção ao Setor Comercial Sul, animada por dois Trios Elétricos.
Idealizado por um coletivo de artistas que compõem um diálogo plural entre diferentes linguagens artísticas. O Bloco do Amor desfila as batidas e as cores da música, da dança, do circo, da arte drag e da mitologia brasileira, em um ambiente afetuosamente acolhedor a todas as manifestações de amor. A programação inclui momentos cênicos e de interação com foliãs e foliões. Embalada por um repertório que vai desde clássicos do carnaval, passando pelo Calypso, Brega, Forró, MPB, até o Pop.
Desde a sua estreia, em 2016, o Bloco do Amor dá protagonismo às múltiplas identidades, cheias de vida e valores humanos, que se destacam em meio a uma sociedade orientada à cultura de um padrão. Em desobediência a essa norma, rejeita qualquer forma de preconceito e acolhe, em um espaço de segurança, pessoas de orientações e raças distintas, periféricas, além das vulnerabilizadas e profissionais do sexo. E a escolha da Via por onde passa “S2”, poeticamente forma um coração.
“Nosso propósito sempre foi o de acolher e de deixar o amor transparecer em todas as suas formas, inclusive no amor ao próximo, próprio, familiar e comunitário”, relata Letruta/Larissa Hollywood, que assina a coordenação geral e é a mestra de cerimônias. E a mensagem que alicerça a festa é o de “respeito mútuo e inclusivo, para pessoas de todas as idades compartilharem e celebrarem o amor, sentimento vital para a sociedade em sua totalidade”, reforça Letruta. Proposta que se reflete em 10 anos de folia sem ocorrências violentas.
No comando desta festa carnavalesca de rua está uma equipe diversificada com pessoas LGBTQIAPN+, negras e periféricas, profissionais do sexo. São elas: Ava Scher, Mulher Preta Trans, Iris Marwell, mulher LGBTQIAPN+ gorda periférica, Letruta/Larissa Hollywood, homem gay e Drag Queen, Tonhão Nunes, pessoa não-binárie preta e periférica, Bianca Ludgero, mulher LGBTQIAPN+, Duda Pilsen, mulher trans periférica, Letícia Helena, mulher preta, periférica e LGBTQIAPN+, e Lainha Loiola, mulher cis.
