“Fare Cinema – First Settimana del Cinema Italiano nel Mondo” (“Making Cinema – First Week of Italian Cinema in the World”) is a new initiative that has as its first objective the promotion of Italian film production abroad. The Italian Embassy in Brasilia also participates in the event. From June 4 to June 9, the Embassy of Italy presents at Cine Brasília a selection of Italian films in original audio, subtitled in Portuguese.

On Monday, June 4, the film “La kryptonite nella borsa” by Ivan Cotroneo opens the festival. Peppino has to live with his uncles after his mother becomes depressed. When his cousin is killed by a bus, he dives into the fantasy world to deal with the realities of life.

On Wednesday, June 6, there will be the screening of “L’industriale” by Giuliano Montaldo. Businessman immersed in debt with banks has few days to try to prevent the bankruptcy of his factory and his marriage.

On Thursday, June 7, the film “È stato il figlio” by Daniele Ciprì, will be presented. Serenella dies during a crime spread and her family decides to seek compensation from the Mafia.

On Friday, June 8, the film “Gli equilibristi” by Ivano di Matteo is the main attraction. Giulio is a 40-year-old man who sees his life change when his wife discovers a betrayal.

The last film to be presented will be the comedy “Scialla!” dy Francesco Bruni, on June 9. Bruno, a rigorous and melancholy teacher, lives a quiet life until he discovers that a student, an extroverted and rebellious teenager, is his son.
