The stage play “Insetos” (Bugs) gets a shorts season in Brasília starting on May 17. The season celebrates the 30-year-anniversary of theather group Cia. De Atores.

The original text is written by Jô Bilac, directed by Rodrigo Portella. The bugs gain voice in twelve sketches that intertwine forming the narrative, in which the author talks about fear and manipulation.

As a tale, the text draws parallels between nature and current political and social issues – evoking collective and individual behaviors that are being revealed in the voice of different insects: grasshopper, cockroach, mantis, beetle, butterfly, butterfly, mosquito, termite and ant, among others.

On the scene, an exodus situation generates an immense imbalance in nature. There is scarcity, tyranny and war. The collapse is in place. The locusts try to destroy everything, but they are faced with a new order imposed by the mantis.
