Winner of the Robert Schumann International Piano Competition, Kazakhstani musician Temirzhan Yerzhanov chose a special piece for his single presentation in Brasília: “Concert No. 3”, by Almas Serkebaev. The piece was first performed by Yerzhanov himself, who decided to include it in the recital that will take place at Casa Thomas Jefferson.
On stage, Yerzhanov will be accompanied by Capital Philharmonia, led by Maestro Artur Soares. The repertoire also includes Samuel Barber’s “Adage”, and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Op. 110 Symphony”.
Kazakhstan likes his piano to sound like “talking and singing” whether he is playing the classical repertoire, or the contemporary one.
