Aliança Francesa in Brasília presents the film festival “Les Femmes au Cinéma”, which brings to the city works by contemporary French and Brazilian filmmakers. It is a response to discussions on the male monopoly in sets, movie theaters and festivals.

The festival highlights films written and directed by women from Brazil and France, with common themes and different forms of language, style and context.

The curators of the French films are Paule Maillet, graduated in Cinema from the Université de Provence, Aix-Marseille I; the Brazilian short films were selected by Bárbara Cabral, director and audiovisual producer, master in film and genre studies at UnB.
