The auditorium Françoise Valière at the French Alliance of Brasília will welcome everyone on March 23 for the scenic reading in French of the piece Image Capture (Arrêt sur image) of the Togolese playwright Gustave Akakpo.

Born in 1974, Akakpo is a writer, illustrator, artist, actor and cultural entertainer. The collective “Na classe e em cena” (In class and in scene) – theater company of the University of Brasília (UnB) will also perform in the event – the group has been researching the work of Akakpo since 2010.

In Image Capture (Arrêt sur image), the author highlights the figure of the “coyote”, the “passeur”, the one who leads the immigrants through the frontier areas. It urges the audience to reflect on the motivations and history of this key figure in migratory processes.
