On the evening of February 20, the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Brazil held an event at the Naval Club to celebrate the country’s national day. Ambassador Aung Kyaw Zan and his wife welcomed the distinguished guests, including foreign diplomats, Brazilian authorities, members of Brasília’s society, journalists, and politicians. The atmosphere was marked by cordiality and cultural exchange, reflecting the importance of the diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Brazil.

 

 

 

 

 

The event began with a social gathering, during which guests enjoyed a selection of finely prepared appetizers. Following this, everyone’s attention turned to the screening of an informative video highlighting Myanmar’s natural beauty, rich culture, sports traditions, national celebrations, and tourism potential. The video served as a window into the country, providing attendees with a comprehensive view of the diversity and uniqueness of the “Golden Land.”

 

 

 

 

After the screening, the national anthems of Myanmar and Brazil were played in a solemn moment symbolizing the friendship and mutual respect between the two nations. Ambassador Aung Kyaw Zan then delivered a speech in which he emphasized the significance of Myanmar’s embassy in Brazil, the country’s only diplomatic representation in Latin America. The ambassador highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in various areas, such as the development of antivenom serums and the exchange of agricultural knowledge. Additionally, he provided a brief historical overview of Myanmar, celebrating the national day and mentioning the efforts of the current Government to restore democracy in the country.

 

 

 

 

 

The ambassador also expressed his gratitude for the presence of Mr. Everton Frask Lucero, Director of the Department of India, South, and Southeast Asia at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who represented the Brazilian Government at the event. In his speech, Mr. Lucero emphasized the importance of trade between Brazil and Myanmar as a means to deepen relations between the South American giant and the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He congratulated the ambassador on his mission in Brazil and expressed hopes that the two countries would continue to strengthen their diplomatic ties and prosper together.

 

 

Following the speeches, a toast was made, accompanied by a warm round of applause from the attendees. Guests were then invited to sample a selection of Burmese dishes, carefully prepared for the occasion. A standout was the traditional Mohinga soup (မုန့်ဟင်းခါး), considered one of Myanmar’s most emblematic dishes, which delighted palates and provided an immersion into the country’s rich cuisine.

 

 

 

The event continued with a relaxed social gathering, where guests exchanged ideas and experiences, concluding the evening in a harmonious and celebratory atmosphere. The reception not only celebrated Myanmar’s national day but also reinforced the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, paving the way for future collaborations in various areas of mutual interest.

Na noite de quinta-feira, 20 de fevereiro, a Embaixada da República da União de Myanmar no Brasil realizou um evento no Clube Naval, para celebrar a data nacional do país. O embaixador Aung Kyaw Zan e sua esposa recepcionaram os ilustres convidados, entre os quais se encontravam diplomatas estrangeiros, autoridades brasileiras, membros da sociedade brasiliense, jornalistas, políticos e amigos da embaixada. O ambiente foi marcado por um clima de cordialidade e intercâmbio cultural, refletindo a importância do fortalecimento das relações diplomáticas entre Myanmar e Brasil.

O evento iniciou-se com um momento de socialização, durante o qual os convidados desfrutaram de uma seleção de aperitivos finamente preparados. Em seguida, a atenção de todos foi direcionada para a exibição de um vídeo informativo que destacou as belezas naturais, a rica cultura, as tradições esportivas, as celebrações nacionais e o potencial turístico de Myanmar. O vídeo serviu como uma janela para o país, proporcionando aos presentes uma visão abrangente da diversidade e singularidade do “País Dourado”.

Após a exibição, foram entoados os hinos nacionais de Myanmar e do Brasil, em um momento solene que simbolizou a amizade e o respeito mútuo entre as duas nações. Em seguida, o embaixador Aung Kyaw Zan proferiu um discurso no qual ressaltou a relevância da embaixada de Myanmar no Brasil, única representação diplomática do país na América Latina. O embaixador enfatizou a importância de ampliar a cooperação bilateral em diversas áreas, como o desenvolvimento de soros antiofídicos e o intercâmbio de conhecimentos agrícolas. Além disso, ele fez uma breve retrospectiva histórica de Myanmar, celebrando a data nacional e mencionando os esforços do atual regime militar para restaurar a democracia no país.

O embaixador também expressou sua gratidão pela presença do senhor Everton Frask Lucero, Diretor do Departamento de Índia, Sul e Sudeste da Ásia do Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Brasil, que representou o Itamaraty no evento. Em seu discurso, o Sr. Lucero destacou a importância do comércio entre Brasil e Myanmar como um vetor para aprofundar as relações entre o gigante sul-americano e os países da Associação das Nações do Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN). Ele parabenizou o embaixador por sua missão no Brasil e expressou votos de que os dois países continuem a fortalecer seus laços diplomáticos e a prosperar conjuntamente.

Após os discursos, foi realizado um brinde, seguido de uma calorosa salva de palmas pelos presentes. Em seguida, os convidados foram convidados a degustar uma seleção de pratos da culinária birmanesa, cuidadosamente preparados para a ocasião. Destaque para a tradicional sopa Mohinga (မုန့်ဟင်းခါ), considerada um dos pratos mais emblemáticos de Myanmar, que encantou os paladares e proporcionou uma imersão na rica gastronomia do país.

O evento seguiu com um momento descontraído de socialização, no qual os convidados puderam trocar ideias e experiências, encerrando a noite em um clima de harmonia e celebração. A recepção não apenas celebrou a data nacional de Myanmar, mas também reforçou os laços de amizade e cooperação entre os dois países, abrindo caminho para futuras colaborações em diversas áreas de interesse mútuo.
