The Ambassador of Barbados in Brazil, Mrs. Yvette Goddard, received guests on August 4, 2017 for her farewell party in Brazil. The lively fraternization event took place at the ambassador’s official residence in the Lago Sul district of Brasilia.

Among the guests there were ambassadors, diplomats, Brazilian government officials, businessmen, intellectuals, personalities from Brasília society, members of the Barbados community in Brasilia and the embassy staff.

As it could not be different, the celebration was marked by the typical joy of the Caribbean people, with the presence of several representatives of the member countries of the Caribbean community, and of course the lively rhythms that do not allow anyone to stand still.

Ambassador gave a speech thanking the presence of the guests and said that she was very happy during her years in Brazil. After the speech, ambassador Goddard danced with everybody in that party that will undoubtedly be among the good memories of everyone.

Despite the joy of the event, one cannot deny the sadness of the departure of one of the most sympathetic ambassadors of the diplomatic corps in Brasilia. The work of a foreign ambassador includes the good presentation of his country and the development of good relations in diplomatic, business and political circles. Ambassador Yvette Goddard fulfilled this mission with excellence in Brazil. Her cheerful smile and attitude of joy and friendship will surely be reminded among the many friends she has made here in Brazil.
