The ambassadors of the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, held on September 3rd a celebration for the 52nd anniversary of the association.
Ambassadors of ASEAN member countries were greeted at the event.
The beautiful celebration took place in the social halls and open air areas of the Indonesian Embassy and was attended by dozens of guests, including foreign and Brazilian ambassadors, diplomats, Brazilian government officials, politicians, businessmen and members of Brasilia’s society.
The Ambassador of Indonesia, Mr. Edi Yusup, is the current president of ASEAN and gave a speech on the importance of ASEAN in strengthening the economies of its member countries and also on the important relations with Brazil. The representative of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Reinaldo Salgado, also delivered a speech and congratulated the ambassadors of ASEAN member countries for the 52nd anniversary of the association.
A special cake was made for the celebration.
After the speeches, everyone was invited to enjoy a dinner with typical food from the ASEAN countries. During dinner, the guests could watch a beautiful musical performance by singers and musicians members of the ASEAN foreign community living in Brasilia.
