Every year in Brasília, there’s a change in part of the landscape around Lake Paranoá. The “Na Praia” (At the Beach) event brings a coastal vibe to the federal capital amidst the Cerrado (Brazilian savanna biome). Located in the South Sports Clubs sector, this initiative has been transforming the weekends of Brasilienses, bringing a piece of the coast to the heart of the Central Plateau.
The goal of the event is to make people feel like they’re truly at the beach. There’s white sand, lounge chairs, and a summer view of Lake Paranoá. Activities include beach sports competitions, yoga workshops, and many musical performances.
Tents scattered throughout the area offer everything from typical beach snacks to elaborate dishes inspired by Brazilian cuisine, such as acarajé, tapioca, and even seafood.
But it’s not just about fun and food: the annual event is also a cultural space! Live shows with national artists bring music and entertainment in the afternoon and evening, creating a festive atmosphere.
For the organizers, the objective goes beyond providing a temporary escape from Brasília’s dry climate. It’s about reliving the summer spirit and enjoying an environment that promotes health, well-being, and plenty of music.
