Ambassador of Uruguai, Mr. Rodolfo Nin Novoa
The Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay celebrated the two hundredth anniversary of its country’s independence by hosting hundreds of guests for a grand party on the evening of August 25th in the embassy’s open air areas.
The guests were received by Ambassador Rodolfo Nin Novoa and his wife, Ambassadress Ivonne Lima, as well as other diplomats and attachés from that beautiful country. The embassy yards were beautifully decorated, and several companies participated in the event with stands showcasing products and gastronomy, which included the much-appreciated Uruguayan barbecue.
Foreign ambassadors, diplomats, Brazilian authorities, journalists and businessmen were at the event!

After everyone’s arrival, the anthems of Brazil and Uruguay were performed. Then, Uruguayan ambassador Rodolfo Nin Novoa delivered a speech highlighting the two hundred years of Uruguay’s independence and the important relations his country has with Brazil. Following this, the representative of the Brazilian government also spoke, congratulating Uruguay and corroborating the idea that the two countries are great friends and partners in various areas. The speeches were warmly applauded by all.
A Uruguayan musical group performed for the audience, leading guests to dance to the lively rhythms. The evening was perfect for an outdoor event, and everyone mingled and congratulated Ambassador Rodolfo Nin Novoa on the success of the beautiful diplomatic event.
