To celebrate Brazilian cinema as a whole, the “Itaú Cultural” institution launched on June 19th a streaming platform called “Itaú Cultural Play” and is still offering many cultural attractions! With free access, the service offers 135 films with productions made in 26 Brazilian states on the most varied genres, such as fiction, documentaries, series, animations, experimental productions, interviews, lectures, short and feature films. The works were curated by specialists with the aim of offering a wide range of aesthetics and themes.
For the platform’s debut, Itaú prepared an exhibition dedicated to famous Brazilian director Glauber Rocha and producer Luiz Carlos Barreto, in addition to bringing a selection of contemporary films, independent cinema titles, university films and themed sessions in partnership with institutions and audiovisual festivals.
The platform aims to promote diversity and expand access to Brazilian culture. The platform also holds a large diversity of visions and perspectives amongst the filmmakers whose work are available in the Itaú Cultural Play platform
The project has been under development for about two years. Over time, new titles will enter the platform according to the demand of viewers and national production.
The initial catalog has 16 thematic exhibitions, 56 feature films, 50 short films, 36 fictions, 69 documentaries and 15 animated films.

Para festejar o cinema brasileiro como um todo, a instituição “Itaú Cultural” lançará, neste sábado (19 de junho), uma plataforma de streaming chamada “Peça Itaú Cultural”. Com acesso gratuito, o serviço oferece 135 filmes com produções realizadas em 26 estados brasileiros nos mais diversos gêneros, como ficção, documentário, séries, animações, produções experimentais, entrevistas, palestras, curtas e longas-metragens. Os trabalhos foram selecionados por especialistas com o objetivo de oferecer uma ampla gama de estéticas e temáticas.
Para a estreia da plataforma, o Itaú preparou uma mostra dedicada ao renomado diretor brasileiro Glauber Rocha e ao produtor Luiz Carlos Barreto, além de trazer uma seleção de filmes contemporâneos, títulos de cinema independente, filmes universitários e sessões temáticas em parceria com instituições e festivais de audiovisual.
A plataforma tem como objetivo promover a diversidade e ampliar o acesso à cultura brasileira. A plataforma também abriga uma grande diversidade de visões e perspectivas entre os cineastas cujos trabalhos estão disponíveis na plataforma Itaú Cultural Play.
