Directed by Isaiah Saxon, “The Legend of Ochi” is a unique film that relies on visual delicacy and well constructed dialogues to build an emotional and universal narrative. The film tells the story of Uma, a young girl who, after getting lost in the forest, forms an unexpected bond with Ochi, a mystical forest creature.
The aesthetic is the film’s greatest strength: lush landscapes inspired by folk art, raw nature, and 1980s references — such as E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and The Goonies — create an immersive and contemplative atmosphere.
Saxon crafts a modern fable about identity, connection, and belonging. “The Legend of Ochi” stands out not only for its visual beauty but also for its narrative boldness. In addition to being an immersive spectacle, the film also features Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things and Willem Dafoe, star of several films including Spider-Man, Poor Things, and Nosferatu.
