Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Sumith Dassanayake, delivered a welcome speech to the visitors.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka and the Secretary of International Relations of the Federal District Government promoted the exhibition “Explore Sri Lanka 2024” at Espaço Cultural Renato Russo (Asa Sul) during January 12 and 13th 2024. The event presented the History, Heritage, Culture, cuisine and products of that beautiful country in Asia.
The opening ceremony was on the morning of January 12 and dozens of people went to the event. The ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Sumith Dassanayake, delivered a welcome speech to the guests and highlighted the importance of the growing relations of his country and Brazil. The Secretary of International Relations of the Federal District, Mr. Paco Brito, also did a speech and said that is important to the Brazilians to know more about Sri Lanka, an important tourism destiny. Both speeches were much applauded.
The visitors saw objects and many images of Sri Lanka, a very beautiful and interesting country to be visited. There was also served a tasting of some of Sri Lanka’s cuisine. The famous teas from Sri Lanka were also at the event and people could taste the different kinds of teas produced in that country. Among the guests there were diplomats, journalists, media outlets professionals, students, teachers and members of Brasilia’s society.
