The event commenced with a small celebration of the Hindi Diwas (हिन्दी दिवस), an event celebrated in September in honor of the Hindi language and its status as one of the country’s official languages. Hindi Diwas celebrates all aspects of the language, such as Hindi music and literature. A video celebrating the language was presented to the guests, stating that over 585 million people dream in Hindi every night. The embassy mentioned that it offers Hindi classes to those interested and invited Brazilians to the stage who delivered speeches in Hindi, showcasing their progress and receiving a book celebrating the language as a gift.

Following this, the embassy took a moment to celebrate ITEC Day, which commemorates the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme. ITEC is a bilateral assistance program that aims to promote science, innovation, and technological cooperation among international community students. Themes such as rural development, environmental issues, infrastructure, sustainable development, and cybersecurity were appreciated to highlight Indian technology and innovation.

The ambassador later gave a brief lecture about ITEC and introduced key members of the project, such as the honorable diplomat from Bahrain, Mr. Fahad Alfaihani, who had been a student in the Indian Foreign Service course. A Brazilian speaker was also invited to talk about ITEC. He had studied administration alongside students from various nationalities, highlighting the project’s diversity. The Indian ambassador concluded this part of the event by discussing India’s ambition to become an international educational reference in the future and mentioned that over 2 billion dollars had already been invested in ITEC.

The ambassador thanked the author and commented on the importance of proper nutrition, as ancient knowledge dictates.

Following this, Ms. Marta Montenegro, a member in the technical management of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and an Ayurvedic therapist, invited everyone to learn about Ayurveda and emphasized the importance of yoga and good nutrition. Both the book author and SUS workers received gifts from the embassy, symbolizing the friendship between the government of India and Brazilian civil society.

The fourth segment of the event was brief and focused on celebrating Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu festival that commemorates the love and companionship between brothers and sisters. The moment included a symbolic act of tying a thread, the rakhi, on the wrist of a “spiritual brother” from the embassy.
