Comedy play “Me Engana Que Eu Posto” (Fool Me Than I Post it)

The G7 Comedy Company proudly premieres on Saturday (June 29) its new show: “Fool Me Than I Post it” (Me Engana Que Eu Posto), an unmissable comedy about happiness and falseness on social media. The premiere will be on June 29th at La Salle Theater – Quadra 906 South, Asa Sul, at 7:00pm, and tickets are available online.

“Fool Me Than I Post it” is a comedy about our complex relationship with the internet – this inhospitable place, full of offensive comments and family groups, but also where it is possible to positively influence people, receive high doses of dopamine, and maybe, find true happiness.

Through an intelligent script and captivating performances, the G7 Comedy Company invites the audience to reflect on the impact of social media on our lives, while ensuring laughter from beginning to end. “Fool Me Than I Post it” (Me Engana Que Eu Posto) tells the story of Isabela Fonseca, a woman addicted to social media who dreams of becoming a famous influencer, with millions of followers and likes. One fine day, when she is about to give up on this dream, Isabela has an epiphany and realizes that the quest for followers and likes is empty. She then decides to abandon her dream for good. However, ironically, on the same day, Isabela goes viral. And a lot.

The story follows our protagonist and her struggle against the anxiety and depression that can arise from excessive or unprotected use of the internet, a situation common to everyone nowadays. Despite being light and fun, the play addresses the need to take care of mental health in this era where we live more inside our cell phones than in real life.

Expectation x Reality

“Expectations only exist to be broken,” says Rodolfo Cordón, one of the actors and authors of the comedy. “We are very happy with the result of almost a year of work on this show, which I consider the most mature of the group, for courageously addressing the theme of social media and mental health and how this can be very funny. We don’t need to suffer while reflecting on ourselves.”

The expectation for the premiere is huge! It will be a very special day when G7 will present to the world another dynamic and fun comedy, with a positive message, hilarious songs and parodies, audience participation, and prizes. A história acompanha nossa protagonista e sua luta contra a ansiedade e a depressão que podem surgir com o uso exagerado ou desprotegido da internet, uma situação comum a todos hoje em dia. Apesar de leve e divertida, a peça aborda a necessidade de cuidar da saúde mental nesta era em que se vive mais dentro do celular do que na vida real.
