Acclaimed Brazilian artist Toquinho is going to be granted with the “Grande Ufficiale dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia”. The award goes to Toquinho in the celebration of the 50 years of his career. The ceremony will be held at the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia.
The award represents recognition in favor of all those Italians abroad or foreigners who have acquired particular merit in promoting the relations of friendship and collaboration between Italy and other countries and in promoting ties with Italy. The award is granted by the President of the Italian Republic.
Antonio Pecci Filho, known as Toquinho, is one of the great masters of the artistic and musical movement of “Bossa Nova”. The presence in the Italian cultural life is a constant element in Toquinho’s career.
The award ceremony will be preceded by a brief press conference by Toquinho, who will then present some of his most famous songs.
