On the 13th and 14th of December, the Brazilian capital, Brasília, will host the first edition of the “Brazil Is Indigenous Land” Festival, an event that brings together talents in music, visual arts, handicrafts and communication from indigenous peoples.
Held at the National Museum of the Republic, the festival promises to transform the city into an effervescent centre of indigenous culture, offering a weekend full of concerts, art exhibitions and debates on cultural wealth and the bioeconomy.
The event is characterised by the presence of renowned indigenous artists, who share the stage with leading musicians from the national scene. Special guests include Gaby Amarantos, Xamã, Lenine, Mariene de Castro and Felipe Cordeiro.
In addition to the musical performances, the event features art exhibitions and debates that address relevant themes. Sponsored by the Vale Cultural Institute and supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples, the festival stands out as a platform that aims to offer space, structure and visibility to indigenous artists from Brazil’s six biomes. It also promotes social and cultural exchange with indigenous peoples.
With a rich programme, the event represents a celebration of diversity and a reaffirmation of the rights of indigenous peoples.
