In the early afternoon of the 17th of May, the Embassy of South Africa received the associates of the “Associação Brasileira dos Jornalistas e Comunicadores da Área Internacional e Diplomatica – ABRAJINTER” (Brazilian Association of Journalists and Comunicators in the International and Diplomatic Area). The ambassador of that country, Mr. Vusi Mavimbela, and other South African diplomats and attachés presented various topics about their country.

The journalists and media outlets representatives were received in the social lounges of the official residence, located in the South Embassy Sector. A video about South Africa was shown to everyone.

After the arrival of the guests, the event began under the conduction of Ms. Denisha Reddy, First Secretary of Politics, who presented the South African Public Diplomacy and Cultural Projects for the year 2022.

Mrs. Denisha Reddy asked each ABRAJINTER member to introduce themselves, indicating their media outlet. Then, the South African ambassador welcomed everyone and highlighted the importance of the meeting, also pointing out the actions that his country is developing with Brazil. The president of ABRAJINTER, Ms. Fabiana Ceyhan, then spoke and thanked the ambassador and other embassy members for their kindness in promoting the meeting and also emphasizing the importance of the work of the association’s professionals.

The embassy members then began the presentations and the journalists were able to get to know South Africa from various aspects such as economy, tourism, defense and public safety, among others. A second video with beautiful images of the country showed why South Africa is one of the most visited countries in the world.

The presentations were greatly applauded by all and then a fraternization cocktail began. Embassy members and ABRAJINTER associates socialized in the lounges and open-air areas of the residence. The ambassador, diplomats and attachés of the Embassy of South Africa received everyone’s praise for the excellent organization of the event. In the end, everyone received promotional materials about that beautiful African country.
