Museu dos Correios hosts the exhibition “Até aqui, encáustica” (Up to now, encaustic) that gathers 57 works by visual artist Veruska Lacroix. The exhibition will be open for visitors until May 27.

Veruska Lacroix is from Paraná, but had all her social and cultural education built in this city. Throughout her career, Mrs. Lacroix has participated in several collective and individual exhibitions in art spaces in Brasília.

“Encaustic” is a technique known from antiquity, comes from the Greek expression “burn on fire” and is characterized by the mixture of waxes and resins, combined with pigments in oil. Veruska Lacroix has been working with encaustic painting since 2015.

Most of the paintings presented at the exhibition were produced by the artist in eleven series. For this exhibition the artist brings the “Mandala Universo” and the “Mandala Florestas”, works in round format that do not have frames.
