The Embassy of Sri Lanka received guests on the evening of December 21st for a fraternization dinner.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Sumith Dassanayake and other Sri Lankan diplomats and embassy staff. Among the guests there were representatives of the Brazilian government, ambassadors, journalists and businessmen.
The guests socialized in the social halls of the embassy and after everyone arrived, the ambassador gave a speech thanking everyone for their presence and highlighting the economic attractions of his country, especially the potential of the tea-producing sector, one of the biggest in the world.
After the speech, everyone was invited to the embassy dining room, where the Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Mrs. Seevali Wijewantha, gave a detailed presentation on the production of high quality teas in her country, including the variety offered to the consumer market. The presentation included the showing of promotional videos about Sri Lankan tea, which is consumed in much of the world.

Afterwards dinner was served and everyone was able to discover and appreciate the typical cuisine of that beautiful country. The guests praised the seasonings and flavor of the options served. At the end, a tasting of the famous Sri Lankan tea was enjoyed by everyone.
