The CAIXA Cultural Brasília will host a unique and provocative experience next Saturday, 13 January, at 3pm, in the Gente Arteira Room. Renowned artist Rodrigo Ramos will bring the lecture “Ecologia Sonora” to the capital as part of the innovative exhibition entitled “Espelho Sonoro” (Sound Mirror).
The lecture proposes a deep reflection on the interaction between sound and the well-being of society, highlighting how noise pollution affects the population. Rodrigo Ramos, known for his innovative approach in the field of sound art, will guide participants through thought-provoking questions, seeking to awaken a deep and conscious listening to public space, challenging society to de-aesthetise its ears in the face of urban cacophony.
In addition to the talk, the artist will lead a guided tour of the “Mirror of Sound” exhibition, revealing the creative processes behind the project. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore an auditory rereading of cities, mapping the sounds that make up the rich sonic tapestry of urban environments.
The exhibition offers a unique sensory experience, remodelling the public’s relationship with the urban environment. Through photographs and QR Codes, visitors will be taken on a journey through everyday and urban sounds, while viewing images captured in the interwar period, highlighting the pioneering use of sound locators at that time.
