On December 7, THE GUIDE promoted a visit of three ambassadors to the city of Orizona, Goiás,.
On a beautiful sunny Saturday, the CEO of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, accompanied the ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Mr. Bolat Nussupov, of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Gerard Greene, and of Suriname, Ms. Angeladebie Ramkisoen, to visit businesspeople and authorities in that town located 215km from Brasília. The diplomat responsible for the commercial development of Kazakhstan in Brazil, First Secretary Serik Alimbayev, also participated in the visit.

As soon as they arrived, the ambassadors visited the company Laticínio JL (JL Dairy Industry), owner of the VALEZA brand, and were received by the company’s CEO, Mr. Jair Borges and his wife and son, Fernanda Borges and Gustavo Borges. They were also welcomed by the company’s Commercial Director, Mr. Paulo Mendonça Junior.  Laticínio JL (VALEZA) is one of the largest dairy producers in Brazil, offering a wide variety of products, including various cheeses and cream cheeses. The industry produces more than 300,000 liters of milk per day and 700 tons of cheese per month, with annual revenues of over 200 million reais. VALEZA products are currently available in large supermarket chains throughout Brazil.

Guests were welcomed by the company’s CEO, Mr. Jair Borges, his family and the Commercial Director Paulo Mendonça Junior and introduced to the variety of VALEZA products.

The ambassadors were able to taste VALEZA products and everyone appreciated the wide variety of cheeses, cream cheeses and Brazilian style cream cheese, known as “Requeijão”, all of which are of the highest quality and flavor. The company’s CEO, Mr. Jair Borges, explained the company’s products and their distribution in the main retail chains in Brazil. The ambassadors asked questions about the viability of the company’s operations in their countries. The company’s Commercial Director, Mr. Paulo Mendonça Junior, explained the company’s growing production capacity and the viability of export operations to various regions of the world. At the end of the meeting, the visitors were presented with several VALEZA brand products and thanked the hosts for their warm welcome.

Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira then led the ambassadors to the Orizona City Hall, where the city’s mayor, Mr. Felipe Antônio Dias, Vice-Mayor Ruimar de Castro and the Municipal Secretary of Government Management, Mr. Giliard Jesus dos Santos, were waiting for them for a welcome meeting. The Commercial Director of Laticínios JL, Mr. Paulo Mendonça Junior, also participated in the visit.

Mayor Felipe Dias was recently reelected for a 4-year term beginning in January 2025. This will be his fourth term as head of the city, which brings together companies from various sectors, some with ongoing export operations. The Mayor thanked the ambassadors for their visit and highlighted the importance of growing the city’s relations with the embassies established in Brasília. He praised THE GUIDE‘s initiative in promoting the meeting and expressed interest in receiving more foreign ambassadors and diplomats during 2025.

Guests had a meeting with the mayor Felipe Dias and the Vice-Mayor Ruimar de Castro at the City Hall.

Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira thanked the mayor and other members of the city administration for their welcome and announced each ambassador present at the meeting and some characteristics of each of their countries. The ambassadors gave speeches of thanks for the meeting, highlighting the growing opportunities for developing trade relations and exchanging knowledge and technologies in various areas.

At the end of the meeting at the city hall, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira and the ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname were presented by the mayor with a bottle of the famous Orizona brand premium cachaça, with a distinctive flavor and quality. The mayor was also presented with a high-quality Kazakh vodka.

Mayor Felipe Dias invited everyone to lunch at a traditional restaurant in the city and taste the traditional food of the state of Goiás, which included “Arroz com Piqui”, a traditional dish served with the famous vegetable of Goiás cuisine.

The lunch was an excellent moment of relaxation and fellowship among the visitors, the mayor and his team, the executive Paulo Mendonça Junior and the business owners of the restaurant, who welcomed everyone with joy and friendliness. The ambassador of Kazakhstan, Mr. Bolat Nussupov and his team thanked the mayor for the lunch invitation, but declined due to a previously established commitment in Brasília that afternoon, which is why they had to return to Brasília right after the meeting at the city hall.

The last appointment on the agenda of Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira and the foreign delegations in Orizona was a visit to the farm of businessman Paulo Henrique Corrêa, who produces the famous cachaça Corrêa, a brand founded by his father and which is now consumed in several Brazilian states. The group, including the mayor and his team and executive Paulo Mendonça Junior, headed to the farm located on the outskirts of the city. One of the honey producers in the region, Mr. Lourival Gonçalves de Oliveira, also went to the farm and participated in the visit.

Businessman and farmer Paulo Henrique Corrêa, together with his wife, welcomed everyone very warmly and presented the process of making cachaça Corrêa, from the processing of sugar cane to the final bottling. The group learned about the types of cachaça according to their storage and aging, and the methods of bottling the drink.

The Cachaça Corrêa was founded in 1986 by Mr. Eduardo Corrêa, father of Mr. Paulo Henrique Corrêa.

 

Afterwards, everyone was invited to socialize in the farm’s leisure area where a tasting of cachaça Corrêa was prepared. The ambassadors, the mayor and his team, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, executive Paulo Mendonça Junior and honey producer Lourival Gonçalves de Oliveira tasted cheeses, sweets, honey and snacks,  some tasting the cachaça Corrêa, which was highly praised by everyone. At the end, the ambassadors purchased several bottles of the drink.

The visit to Orizona, Goiás, was part of THE GUIDE‘s “Countries of the World” (Países do Mundo) and “Cities in Brazil” (Cidades no Brasil) projects, and the ambassadors returned to Brasília satisfied with the excellent trip and contacts made that day.
