The Brazilian Ministry of Defense (MD), through the Secretariat of Defense Products (Seprod), participated in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition 2025 (Seoul ADEX) in South Korea. The objective of the event, which took place from October 19 to 23, was to promote the exchange of knowledge in the area of defense and the aerospace sector between companies and government representatives from various countries.
During the fair, the MD delegation attended operational demonstrations and learned about technologies with autonomous systems (drones), anti-aircraft and space defense, as well as weaponry and cybersecurity. It also participated in meetings with companies and government agencies from other countries to acquire knowledge and technology of strategic relevance to the Brazilian defense industry.
On this occasion, the MD and the Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of the defense industry. According to the Secretary of Defense Products of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, Mr. Heraldo Luiz Rodrigues, “this memorandum will enable greater interaction in the area of research and development, in the area of acquisition of defense materials and in any other area that is of interest to both countries.”
The Secretary also addressed the partnerships between the two countries, through the company Embraer, highlighting that South Korea has stood out for the production of defense materials. “The company, which had already sold the KC-390 aircraft to South Korea, signed a memorandum of understanding with the country’s procurement department to develop a study on maritime patrol aircraft,” he said.
