The Embassy of Ecuador celebrated its National Day on the evening of August 8, when it welcomed dozens of guests to a performance by the Symphony Orchestra of the National Theater Claudio Santoro with the special participation of Ecuadorian soloist Jorge Saade, one of the best violinists in Latin America.
The beautiful performance took place at the Plínio Marcos Theater in Brasília. The guests were received by the Ambassador of Ecuador to Brazil, Mr. Carlos Alberto Velastegui, and by other members of the Embassy of Ecuador in Brasília. The Ambassador gave a speech welcoming everyone and announced the beginning of the show. His speech was followed by the representative of the Government of the Federal District and also by the renowned maestro Claudio Cohen, who conducted the orchestra’s musicians with great quality. Soloist Jorge Saade performed excellently and the audience enjoyed the beautiful program that included the Ecuadorian works Op. 85 “Invocación”, by Eduardo Florencia and “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra” by Gerardo Guevara.
Ecuadorian soloist Jorge Saade is a violinist and professor. He is considered the most outstanding violinist in Ecuador and one of the best in Latin America. He has performed more than 300 concerts and recitals in 45 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania, having performed as a soloist with the main symphony orchestras of the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.
The beautiful Brazil – Ecuador Concert received a standing ovation from the audience and Ambassador Carlos Alberto Velastegui and other members of the embassy were warmly congratulated on the success of this beautiful diplomatic and cultural initiative.
