Brazil once again receives the adventures of the famous villain Gru and his hilarious henchmen, the Minions. The movie “Meu Malvado Favorito 4” (Despicable Me 4) hits screens on July 4th.
In the first film of the franchise in seven years, Gru (Doubled in Portuguese by the Brazilian actor Leandro Hassum and in English version by Steve Carell), everyone’s favorite supervillain turned agent of the Anti-Villain League, returns for a new and daring era of the already classic chaos caused by the Minions in Despicable Me 4 (Meu Malvado Favorito 4).
Following the summer blockbuster phenomenon of 2022, “Minions 2: The Rise of Gru,” which grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide, the biggest animated franchise in history now begins a new chapter: Gru, Lucy, and their daughters – Margo, Edith, and Agnes – welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., whose purpose is basically to torment his father.
Additionally, Gru faces new enemies such as Maxime Le Mal and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, who are so malevolent that they leave the Gru family no choice but to flee. He also encounters new characters like Poppy, a surprising aspiring villain.
With non-stop action and high-dose subversive humor characteristic of Illumination, Despicable Me (Meu Malvado Favorito 4) is directed by one of the Minions’ co-creators, Oscar-nominated Chris Renaud (“Despicable Me,” “The Secret Life of Pets”), and produced by visionary founder and CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri, and Brett Hoffman (executive producer of “Super Mario Bros. The Movie,” “Minions 2: The Rise of Gru”). The film is co-directed by Patrick Delage (animation director of “Sing 2” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2”), with a screenplay by Emmy winner and creator of the series “White Lotus,” Mike White, and veteran writer of all films in the “Despicable Me” franchise, Ken Daurio.
