Visual artist Athos Bulcão is in Brazilian colors, in the force of the scenarios and costumes of Brasília, in the univocal relation between art and architecture, in the sacred and the profane. Marília Panitz and André Severo are the curators of the exhibition “100 anos de Athos Bulcão” (100 years of Athos Bulcão), which will run through the units of CCBB Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Divided into different spaces, “100 anos de Athos Bulcão” (100 years of Athos Bulcão) goes beyond the art of the tiles: also highlights the figurative painting of the artist realized in the years 1940 and 1950.
The exhibition also contains the sketches that Athos made for the theater group O Tablado, from Rio de Janeiro, the costumes of the Amahl and Menotti Night Visitors, modernist liturgical vestments and a great collection of his graphic work.
