The Pakistani embassy hosted journalists for lunch on October 26 2023. The objective was to alert the Brazilian press about the drama experienced in the Kashmir region.

The event took place in a restaurant in the Lago Sul neighborhood of Brasília and press and media outlets professionals were received by the Deputy Head of Mission, Minister Irfan Ullah Khan, and the Defense Attaché, General Tariq Naeem Athar.

Journalists received explanatory material on why October 27th is considered the “Black Day” for the people of Pakistan. It was on that day, 76 years ago, that Indian military forces occupied the territories of Jammu and Kashmir, a situation that is still not accepted by Pakistan.
Minister Khan and General Tariq Naeem Athar thanked everyone for their presence and explained the occupation situation in that region. The journalists asked several questions and understood the need to make the suffering experienced by thousands of people in the Kashmir region known to the world.
