The Embassy of Bangladesh received guests on the evening of August 15th for the ceremony of the 47th Anniversary of martyrdom of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The event took place at the embassy, located in the Lago Sul neighborhood of Brasília. Journalists, academics, businessmen and Brazilian government officials were among the guests and they were all welcomed by that country’s ambassador, Ms. Sadia Faizunnesa, and other Bangladeshi diplomats and attachés. Members of the Bangladeshi community were also at the ceremony.

The ambassador placed flowers under the image of the Father of the Nation and several speeches were given in memory of the important leader. Professors from the University of Brasilia also attended the ceremony and announced the launch of literary works on Bangladesh and the life of its founding leader of the nation.

 Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Bangladesh, Commodore Syed M. Ahmad, diplomats, authorities, journalists and intellectuals paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.

The launch of works in Portuguese on the life of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was announced at the event.

After the event, everyone was invited to a fellowship dinner, served in the social celebrations area of the embassy. Dishes with typical Bangladeshi food were enjoyed by all.

 Guests saw an exhibition of historical photos and visited the embassy library.
