Starting Friday, November 13th, until February 14th, the Museu Nacional da República (National Museum of the Republic) will be holding an exhibit dedicated to the History of Brasilia told through the design of furniture created in the capital.

Starting Friday, Brazilian designers Jorge Zalzupin, Michel Arnoult, Samuel Lamas, Sérgio Rodrigues, Raquel Chaves, among others, will have some of their works exhibited at the Museu Nacional da República, through the exhibition “Mobiliário moderno e contemporâneo: dois momentos do design de móveis da capital” (Modern and contemporary furniture: two moments of furniture design in the capital). There will be around 23 pieces and modern furniture from the 1960s to the 1970s and contemporary design from the 2000s, restored by students from the Instituto Federal de Brasília (IFB), in partnership with the department of Culture and Creative Economy of the Distrito Federal.

The restoration of the furniture is the result of the work of students from the IFB, within the “Oficina Escola de Restauro” (Restoration School). The students also participate in the exhibition with a contemporary piece – the Banco Tear (Tear Stool), signed by designers Carla Sanches, Laura Catarina and Wanderson Ferreira.

The exhibition is curated by Dr. Fernanda Freitas and Dr. Fred Hudson, coordinators of the Center for Research and Conservation and Restoration of Furniture / IFB Campus Samambaia.

A partir de sexta-feira, 13 de novembro, até 14 de fevereiro, o Museu Nacional da República abriga uma mostra dedicada à História de Brasília contada por meio do design de móveis criado na capital.

A partir de sexta-feira (13 de novembro), os designers brasileiros Jorge Zalzupin, Michel Arnoult, Samuel Lamas, Sérgio Rodrigues, Raquel Chaves, entre outros, terão alguns de seus trabalhos expostos no Museu Nacional da República, por meio da mostra “Mobiliário moderno e contemporâneo: dois momentos do design de móveis da capital ”(Móveis modernos e contemporâneos: dois momentos do design de móveis na capital). Serão cerca de 23 peças e móveis modernos da década de 1960 a 1970 e design contemporâneo da década de 2000, restaurados por alunos do Instituto Federal de Brasília (IFB), em parceria com a Secretaria de Cultura e Economia Criativa do Distrito Federal.

O restauro do mobiliário é fruto do trabalho de alunos do IFB, no âmbito da “Oficina Escola de Restauro”. Os alunos também participam da mostra com uma peça contemporânea – o Banco Tear (Tear Stool), assinada pelas designers Carla Sanches, Laura Catarina e Wanderson Ferreira.

A exposição tem curadoria da Dra. Fernanda Freitas e do Dr. Fred Hudson, coordenadores do Centro de Pesquisa e Conservação e Restauração de Móveis / IFB Campus Samambaia.
