On November 20, 2023, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman celebrated its National Day. The great celebration was held at the South Club Sector of Brasília.

The event began with a warm reception led by the ambassador of the Sulnatate of Oman, Mr. Talal Sulaiman Habib Al Rahbi, accompanied by the diplomats from the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Abdulmohsin Alojaili and Mr.Ishaq Abdullah. The occasion was attended by representatives of the Brazilian government, members of the press, Brazilian businessmen, foreign ambassadors, diplomats and members of Brasilia’s society.

During the event, guests enjoyed a variety of Arabian dishes, providing everyone with an authentic culinary experience. Paintings depicting the beautiful landscapes of Oman adorned the venue, creating a welcoming atmosphere that immediately embraced the guests.

Following the initial moments, the embassy captured everyone’s attention, leading the rendition of the national anthems of the Sultanate of Oman and Brazil. Subsequently, the ambassador delivered a speech addressing the growing cooperation between Brazil and Oman, as also registered concerns related to aggressions in the Gaza Strip, and the urgency of strengthening trade ties between the countries in the conflict.

The ambassador also addressed crucial issues related to the country’s sustainable growth, discussing the strategy for hydrogen production and the commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, an important video presented by the embassy highlighted the importance of economic growth through mining and investments in non-polluting energy strategies.

The floor was then given to the representative of the Brazilian government, ambassador Clélio Cripa, head of the Middle East department at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his speech, he vigorously emphasized the robust relationship between Brazil and the Sultanate of Oman, consolidating bilateral ties in various areas.

At the conclusion of the speeches, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Talal Sulaiman Habib Al Rahbi, invited the guests to cut a cake in celebration of the 53rd anniversary of the National Day!

Then, the guests were kindly led to a dinner featuring a delightful fusion of Brazilian and Omani dishes, providing a great moment of social interaction.

A raffle was held with prizes carefully selected by embassy partner companies, and the thrilling conclusion took place at the end of the event, presenting various gifts to the lucky participants.

The event came to a close after the announcement of the raffle winners, followed by a dessert treat for all attendees. Upon departure, many guests were bestowed with gifts handed out at the door as a gesture of appreciation.
