As part of the 65th anniversary celebrations of Brazil’s capital, Brasília-based artist Pedro Garcia presents a striking new exhibition that captures the spirit and soul of the city through a series of evocative engravings. The exhibition will be from April 19th to May 19th at the National Museum of the Republic (Museu Nacional da República), one of Brasília’s most iconic architectural landmarks.

The setting of the exhibition, the National Museum, is itself a part of Brasília’s story. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer and situated on the Monumental Axis (Eixo Monumental), the museum is a masterpiece of modernist architecture and a fitting space to honor the creative expressions born from the capital it celebrates.

Titled simply as a tribute to the city, the exhibition showcases a curated collection of Garcia’s recent work, offering visitors a unique visual interpretation of Brasília’s landscape, modernist heritage, and ever-evolving identity. The engravings — delicate yet powerful — highlight both the monumental and the intimate sides of the city, from sweeping urban vistas to quiet, symbolic corners.

Pedro Garcia, a native of Brasília, has long been inspired by the city’s geometry, light, and utopian origins. Through his work, he invites viewers to reflect on what Brasília represents — not only as a political capital but also as a cultural and emotional space that belongs to those who live in, pass through, or dream about it.

Involved in visual creation and production from an early age, Pedro Garcia brings with him three decades of experience in advertising, art direction, graphic arts, and design. Alongside his professional work, he maintains a strong body of personal artistic production, driven by the need to transcend the demand-driven nature of the communication industry
