The play “Hipóteses para Shakespeare” (Hypotheses for Shakespeare) will be on presentation on Saturday, May 11 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 12 at 7:00 pm, at Parque Ana Lídia – Parque da Cidade (City Park).

“Hypotheses for Shakespeare” is an open-air play, born of the desire to speak of love, with a process of research steeped in the work of William Shakespeare. In the play, two well-written texts by the English author are mixed: the stories of Romeo & Juliet, and Hamlet, whose characters live the hypothesis of a postmortem meeting at a place called “Undiscovered Country”.

Romeo, Juliet, Hamlet and Ophelia, then, re-enact their tragedies under the requirement of drawing a new destiny to the history of their characters. Bringing a thought, and if Hamlet knew Juliet, and Ophelia surrendered to Romeo? What end would these classics have?
