Until March 6th, the “Museu Nacional da República” national museum will be holding a photographic exhibition by Argentine artist Marcelo Brodsky. 

The exhibition “Eternas Diasporas”, by Argentine photographer Marcelo Brodsky, opened on Friday, December 17th, on the mezzanine floor of the National Museum. Visitations can take place until March 6, 2022. 

As Brodsky’s first solo exhibition in Brasília, the exhibition brings together 38 representative works of the photographer’s last 40 years. The images detail authoritarian regimes and liberation and independence movements in different countries. The curator is Charles Cosac, a specialist in the history of art from Rio de Janeiro and renowned collector of contemporary works and sacred art. 

Born in Argentina from a Russian family, Marcelo Brodsky was born in 1954 in Buenos Aires, where he still lives. On the occasion of the military coup in Argentina in 1976, he went into exile in Barcelona, Spain. There, he studied economics and photography. Marcelo returned to Argentina in 1984 and held his first exhibition in 1986. In addition to his photographic work, he is known for being a human rights activist.

Nascido na Argentina de família russa, Marcelo Brodsky nasceu em 1954 em Buenos Aires, onde vive até hoje. Por ocasião do golpe militar na Argentina em 1976, ele se exilou em Barcelona, na Espanha. Lá, ele estudou economia e fotografia. Marcelo voltou à Argentina em 1984 e fez sua primeira exposição em 1986. Além do trabalho fotográfico, é conhecido por ser um ativista dos direitos humanos.
